Established in 1995 in Alrode, Gauteng, JMR has significantly grown over the past 20 years and we have expanded our footprint to eight branches and three trailer service centres across South Africa. We supply in excess of 10, 000 quality trailer parts and accessories to more than 1,500 transport companies throughout Southern Africa. We are appointed agents and distributors of BPW, WABCO and JOST, as well as an AFRIT approved service provider. With a combined fleet of more than 50 delivery vehicles, we ensure that trailer parts and accessories are available when and where you need them. As a leading provider of high quality trailer products, we believe that it is critical to maintain a service ethic and culture that is driven by passion, staff training and development. JMR specialises in quality trailer products and services. We have eight branches countrywide, supplying in excess of 10,000 quality parts to more than 1,500 transport companies throughout Southern Africa. We supply popular brands, including BPW, WABCO and JOST, offering quality trailer products at a competitive price. BPW Axles (Pty) Ltd has acquired a majority stake in the JMR Trailer Parts Group as part of BPW’s global strategy to expand its presence in the aftermarket. JMR is a reputable spare parts distributor, with eight branches throughout South Africa, offering a wide range of quality trailer parts and accessories to more than 1,500 transport companies. The acquisition will allow BPW to better understand the aftermarket and expand its product solutions for transport companies in a customer-orientated manner. Similarly, JMR has no intention of only distributing and promoting BPW products. All suppliers’ products will be approached with the same support intensity as before, in line with JMR’s strategy to place its customers’ requirements first. This will open up opportunities in the local market, not only for the BPW/JMR partnership, but also for other existing BPW distributors. Unfortunately, it is impossible to personally share this information with all stakeholders and it was thus decided to compile a list of frequently asked questions to clarify and eradicate any misconceptions in the market. All other branches will remain within the same premises on the date of acquisition. The two companies will retain their autonomy in terms of staff, structure and culture. Both companies want to ensure continuity in all areas. BPW will continue to supply and treat all its existing business partners in the spare parts market as before at the standard market conditions, whether or not they are members of the BPW Group. A strong cultural fit and customer approach were identified between BPW and JMR and it is trusted that you will embrace this information. During dynamometer or 'roller' testing of vehicles fitted with air suspension, vehicles are often incorrectly failed on the grounds of poor braking performance. With air suspension vehicles with more than one axle, as the wheels on the rollers brake, the axle lifts, compressing the suspension bags. Due to the incompatibility between the components, i.e. using an electrical brake system (EBS) with a normal pneumatic trailer control valve, the towing vehicle brake system will not function correctly and cannot efficiently control the trailer brake system. If the truck is not fitted with an EBS brake system and is either fitted with a standard ABS brake system or is fitted with a standard brake system, then it is acceptable to install a standard trailer control valve, however, when doing this conversion it is also necessary to make sure that the hand brake valve that is fitted to the truck is a 3-port unit, (in other words one supply port and two delivery ports, not forgetting the exhaust port).
